David Louis Scott passed away on June 23, 2026, at the age of 79. He was born on August 3, 1946, in South Bend, Indiana. David grew up in a family that traveled the country, and those early experiences helped shape his outlook on life. Seeing new places left a lasting impression on him and gave him a broad appreciation for the world around him. Among the many family traditions that stayed with him, one of the most meaningful was the family’s breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. That lifelong connection to horses became a defining part of David’s interests and identity, and he loved them deeply from an early age. His affection for horses remained with him throughout his life, reflecting both his appreciation for their beauty and his respect for the discipline and care involved in their world.
David valued and enjoyed his quiet time. He had a good soul and tried. In David’s later years, and he found God in the end. This brought him comfort and peace.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Janet Scott. He is survived by his siblings, Bill Scott, Woody Scott, Tom Scott, Judy Summers, Dottie Selter, and Cathy Outz. His family was an important part of his life. He will be remembered by many.
A traditional obituary can only begin to describe the fullness of a life like David’s. He will be remembered for his love of horses and God.
