David Smith, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23rd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Fannie Cleary and James Garnell Smith.

David is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Tolbert; his son, Kane Smith and wife Stephanie; and his cherished grandchildren, Jackson Tolbert, Griffin Smith, and Lily Smith. He also leaves behind his dear sisters, Joanne Salter, Jackie Foster, and Linda Thorpe, and his favorite brother, Carey Smith.

David was a man of many passions and hobbies. He had a deep love for anything related to boating and was an avid collector of pocket knives. His curiosity and enthusiasm for life led him to explore a wide range of interests, making him a true enthusiast of whatever caught his eye. Above all, David was a loving father and a dedicated family man who touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services for David will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 3 o’clock in the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Haymore officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00pm until 3:00pm prior to the service.  A private interment is being held with military honors.
