David "Dave" Powell

Mr. David “Dave” Powell, age 70, of Newborn passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020.  Dave was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, his family was his world.  He is survived by his wife Genia Powell of Newborn, his children Lesli Bernat (Frank, Jr) of Bogart, Jonny Powell of Shady Dale, Melanie Hilton (Todd) of Social Circle, his mother Susie Powell of Athens, his grandchildren Connor, Rachel, Chey, Evan, Rebekah, Averi, Jack, Lucas, and Bailey, his sisters Vicki Sorrow (Randy) of Rabun Gap, and Susan Powell of Buford, his brothers Mike Powell (Anne) of Statham, and Jim Powell (Jean) of Monroe along with a host of other family and close friends.  The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mansfield United Methodist Church, P.O.
