This obituary was lovingly prepared by the family
Mrs. Deborah Prescott Massey, age 70, of Covington, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026. She was born on January 14, 1956, to Johnny S. and Velma L. Prescott, who have preceded in her death. Along with her parents, Deborah is preceded in death by her brother, Steve Prescott, and her brother-in-law, Rick Massey.
Deborah is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary, and her loving family John and Tela Prescott, Kaleigh Prescott, and Trevin Prescott, her sister-in-law, Dianne Allen (Larry), her nephew, Blane Allen and family, her niece Kristi Williams (Brad) and family, and several cousins.
Along with loving and nurturing, Deborah has a firm belief and high priority on supporting her family in any endeavor. Every morning, Deborah’s first hours were spent with devotionals that were sorted and shared for others to read. She took great joy in decorating her home each season, particularly at Christmas. Her collections of Santas were acquired over 50 years and were a focal point in her home.
Deborah’s health led to a cease in her long-standing (1964-2016) in stadium support of the beloved UGA Bulldogs. However, she refused to allow it to prohibit her from attending the games, plays, and events of the loves of her life, Kaleigh and Trevin. Even during the wheelchair years, it rolled into many gyms and stadiums just to support and watch them.
Her delicate footprint can also be found on the many young adults and children who have always respectfully called her “Aunt Debbie.”
A visitation for Deborah will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home.
J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these services.
