Dennis Knighton Hart, husband to Tina Hart, went to sing with the angels on July 12, 2024, at the age of 70 after a prolonged battle with COVID-19.
Dennis was born in Franklin, NC on December 13, 1953, to loving parents James and Mildred Hart. Dennis attended the University of Georgia where he majored in music and was a member of the Red Coat Marching Band. He was a grateful and obedient believer in Jesus Christ with a calling to music ministry. Dennis was in the Christian rock band Hearts on Fire and a worship leader for multiple churches for many years, beginning as a youth leader at North Clariton Baptist Church. Dennis retired from American Cancer Society where he was an IT (Information Technology) manager.
Dennis was a member of Eastridge Church where he met the love of his life, Tina Hart. Dennis and Tina served in ministry together and have had a long and happy marriage full of joy, love, and laughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Mildred Hart.
He is survived by his loving wife Tina Hart and children Amber (Catalinotto Curinton), Heather (Elijah) Thomas, and Travis (Danielle Hersh). His grandchildren, who will forever know him as Pappy, Knighton Curinton, Aadelaye Curinton, Ajan'iree Curinton, Dominic Curinton, Caleb Thomas, Riley Thomas, Paige Thomas, Sebastian Jones, Alex Jones, Maddie Hersh, Brady Hersh, Gabby Hersh and, Nova Hersh. He was a Grand-Pappy to Judy Jones and Jackson Jones. He is also survived by his two loving brothers Jerry (Brenda) Hart and Johnny (Vivian) Hart and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dennis Hart will always be loved and never forgotten. Fly high and sing with Jesus Pappy!
Funeral services for Mr. Hart will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Brad Rutledge and Reverend Gary Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.
