Mr. Dennis David Stein, “Pops”, passed away on June 13, 2026, at the age of 69, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, quiet strength, and a life centered on those he loved most.

Dennis was born on September 26, 1956, in Portage, Wisconsin, and from an early age he carried with him the values of hard work, loyalty, and responsibility that would define his life. He was a man who believed in doing things the right way, and he applied that standard to everything he touched. Above all, he was dedicated to his work. He made sure that everyone was taken care of and always tried to make their jobs easier. He was well respected by those who knew him, and he gave generously of his time, effort, and knowledge without ever expecting anything in return.

Family was the heart of Dennis’s life. He loved his family dearly, and his greatest joy came from the time he spent with them. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Julie Stein; his children, Renee Grisham, Daniel Hayes, Mollie Horadan and her husband Ryan, and Terrell Stein and his wife Tara; his grandchildren, John Houston Myers and his wife Tish, Hunter Myers and his fiancé’ Cassie Molek, Ceciley Myers, Matthew Hayes and his wife Emily, Brandon Hayes and his wife Hannah, Conner Horadan, and Hudson Stein; eight great-grandchildren; his siblings, Eugene Stein and his wife Teri, Steve Stein and his wife Dixie, Raymond Stein and his wife Carla, and Judy Yohn and her husband Mel; numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved companion, his dog Shelby. Each of them held a special place in his heart, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews who brought him immense pride and happiness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Elaine Stein; and his sister, Sandra “Sandy” Pollesch. Their memories remained close to him, and he carried their influence and love throughout his life.

Dennis was known not only for his strong work ethic, but also for his remarkable mind. He was very intelligent and had a gift for solving problems that others could not figure out. Many people called on him when they needed help, trusting his judgment and appreciating his ability to find practical answers. If he did not know something, he would research it until he found the solution. His mind was always working, and his resourcefulness made him someone others could depend on.

He found joy in simple and meaningful things. He enjoyed playing the guitar and had a deep appreciation for old electronics, especially radios and old stereo systems. He loved being on his tractor and spending time outdoors. Dennis was a great cook, with a range of talent that extended from grilling to decorating the most beautiful cakes. He could do nearly anything, and those who knew him often said there was nothing he could not accomplish.

Dennis was also a wonderful artist, and his creativity was reflected in many parts of his life. He had a playful and competitive spirit, especially during family game night, where he held no mercy for anyone and was always out to win. Those moments were filled with laughter, teasing, and cherished memories that his family will carry forward for years to come. He also loved watching storms roll in and would sometimes set up a camera on time-lapse to capture their movement, finding beauty and fascination in the power of nature.
