Doris (Johnson) Pugh

Mrs. Doris Pugh, age 93, a lifelong resident of Covington passed away May 6, 2019.  She was born in Covington on June 9, 1925 to Samuel and Anna Cora Pilgrim Johnson who have preceded her in death.  Mrs. Pugh was a surgical tech and began her career when Newton County Hospital opened in 1954.  She enjoyed being outside, crochet, crossword puzzles, and reading her Bible.  Mrs. Pugh was a member of Lifepointe Church of the Nazarene.  She was preceded in death by her first husband Lawson Johnson and her second husband Jack Pugh along with her four brothers and two sisters.  Mrs. Pugh is survived by her many nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pugh will be held at 11 o’clock Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Lifepointe Church of the Nazarene, 5133 Jackson Highway, Covington, GA 30014 with Reverend Wayne Rutherford officiating.  The casket will lie in state from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Covington City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.  J.C.
