Douglas "Doug" Padgett

Mr. Douglas “Doug” Padgett, age 75, of Oxford passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023.  He was born April 29, 1947 in Macon to Melvin and Inez Webb Padgett who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Padgett graduated from Lanier High School.  He also attended and graduated from Georgia Southern University receiving his Bachelor’s Degree and was a member of the ATO Fraternity. Mr. Padgett was a real estate agent and worked for Lee Staples Realty.  He enjoyed working in his yard, making people laugh, and loved spending time with his granddaughter.  Mr. Padgett was preceded in death by his brothers Dennis Padgett and Danny Padgett.  He is survived by his daughter Amber Boyd (Roger) of Oxford; his granddaughter Kinsley Sprague; his sister Darlene Donald (Jerry) of Atlanta; his brother David Padgett (Vicki) of Dawsonville; along with several nieces, nephews, other family members, and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Padgett will be held at 3 o’clock Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Sorrells officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM.  J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
