Dwain "Weinner" Brown

Mr. Dwain “Weinner” Brown, age 76, of Newborn passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022.  He was born September 29, 1945 in Pitts, Georgia to his parents Herbert and Frances Brown who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Brown grew up in Conyers and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a firefighter and EMT for Rockdale County Fire Department and retired as a Lieutenant.  Mr. Brown also was a subcontractor working in the HVAC field.  He enjoyed watching westerns on TV, NASCAR, NHRA, and Cops television shows as well.  Mr. Brown was a faithful member of The Baptist Tabernacle and loved going to church.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife Cheryl Brown; his children Bryan Brown (Stephanie) of Tampa, Florida, Kelly Howard Sears (Jamie) of Madison, Georgia, Melissa Willard (Jonathan) of Newborn, Georgia, and Jonathan Brown (Amy) of Salisbury, North Carolina; his grandchildren Angel, Christian, Brianna, Kailey, Karity, Shelby, Abbie, and Tyler; his sisters Sharon Higgins (David), Debra Seagraves, and Belinda Brantley; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at The Baptist Tabernacle, 10119 Access Road, Covington, GA 30014 with Dr. David C. Moody officiating.  Interment will follow at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Newborn, Georgia.  The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM om Tuesday, January 4, 2022.      

Governor Brian Kemp has lifted the restrictions for large gatherings and other recommendations throughout Georgia.  However, we ask that you still be respectful of the family and others during this time. If you are sick, not feeling well, or have any symptoms of COVID 19, please do not attend the service or services.  If you feel the need to wear a mask, please do so.
