Edith G. Rouse

Mrs. Edith G. Rouse, age 86, of Conyers passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024.  She was born February 24, 1938 in Atlanta.  Mrs. Rouse was a woman of strong faith and loved serving God.  She attended Red Oak Methodist Church in her younger years and was currently a member of The First Baptist Church of Conyers. 

Mrs. Rouse enjoyed embroidering, jig-saw puzzles, and gardening.  She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Mamie Wood; her husband James Rouse; her daughters Melva Jane Rouse and Lisa Ann Evans. 

Mrs. Rouse is survived by her daughters Sara Gower, and Jenny Schramm both of Conyers; her special granddaughter and caregiver Amber Cross; her grandchildren Joey Rouse, Friday Huff, Jeremy Gower, John Schramm, and James Evans.  A host of great grandchildren, along with numerous other family members and many close friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rouse will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Historic Red Oak Church with Pastor Butch Davis officiating.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Historic Red Oak Church, 15105 GA Hwy 36, Covington, GA 30014.
