Eliza "Liza" (Anderson) Hilliard

Mrs. Eliza Hilliard, "Liza," age 79, of Madison, GA, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024.  She was born July 22, 1944, in College Park, GA to Mal and Emma Anderson who have preceded her in death.  Liza grew up in College Park and graduated from College Park High School.  She continued her education at the University of Georgia (UGA - Go Dawgs!) eventually receiving her Masters in Education.  Liza spent most of her career teaching at Tritt Elementary School in Cobb County and she retired from the Greene County School System.  She enjoyed antiquing, traveling, organizing social and family events, reading, walking, spending time at Jackson Lake, and being with her grandchildren and pets.   Liza never met a stranger and was a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother, and friend.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother William "Bubba" Anderson.

Mrs. Hilliard is survived by her husband Hunter Hilliard, her children Rick Alderman (Christie), living in New Jersey and Cathy Alderman living in Denver, Colorado; her other children Heather Johnson (Jeff), Missy Hanson (Gary), and Cory  Gabrels (Louise); her grandchildren Asa and Miles Alderman, Shay and Shelby Healy, Jennifer and Ashley Johnson, and Avery and Fisher Gabrels; her sister Jean Estes of North Carolina; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many close friends.

The family will have a private service at a later date.  Donations can be made to the Humane Society of Morgan County in her honor.
