Elizabeth Ann (Hopkins) Janocha

This obituary was lovingly prepared by the family of Mrs. Janocha.

“Some people only walk this earth for a short time.  Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us.” On April 10, 2023 Elizabeth Janocha rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings.

Elizabeth Ann Janocha, age 63, of Covington, GA was born in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on August 9, 1959 to Lily Ann Hahn and John Hopkins.  Elizabeth graduated from Westminster High School in Westminster, MD and later attended culinary school and went on to become a CNA.

Elizabeth better known as Libby to her family and friends met her devoted husband Gregory Janocha at a New Years Eve Party in 1980 and they spent the next 43 years together raising their family.  Elizabeth and Gregory went on to have 3 daughters whom she loved very much. 

Elizabeth enjoyed above all things spending time with her family especially her grand babies and her puppies Gracie and Joy.  Despite her large family Elizabeth always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her family.  Elizabeth had a kind, loving heart and extended her love across the seas and “adopted” a young man from Africa named Mutala.  Elizabeth loved to travel to new destinations.  She enjoyed going to the casino with her husband to play the slot machines together and she would always say, “Greg remember, it’s 50/50”. 

Elizabeth is survived by her husband Gregory Janocha of Covington, GA and her daughters Kristy Janocha (Darron Avery) of Covington, GA, Sarah Dozier (Marion (ML) Dozier II) of Covington, GA, and Anna Marquez (Enrique Marquez) of Edinburg, TX.  She was “Nana” to nine beautiful grand babies Deavyn Janocha, Samantha Dozier, Nathanael Janocha, Elizabeth Johnson, Madalyn Johnson, Jayden Avery, Marion (JD) Dozier III, William Marquez and Madison Marquez.

Funeral services for Mrs. Janocha will be held at 2 o’clock Monday, April 17, 2023 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Darrell Payne officiating.  Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 16, 2023.  J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
