Emy (Brand) Mitcham

Mrs. Emy Mitcham, age 76, of Oxford passed away Monday, March 23, 2020.  She was born March 4, 1944 in Stone Mountain to Clark and Gladys Martin Brand who have preceded her in death.  Mrs. Mitcham graduated from Stone Mountain High School and Georgia College in Milledgeville.  She was a teacher for 26 years, teaching all of her career at Palmer Stone Elementary School.  Together with her husband and family she enjoyed working their family farm, Mitcham Farm in Oxford.  She was a active member of Macedonia Baptist Church and also enjoyed painting.  Mrs. Mitcham stayed in touch with her college sorority, ADK Sorority, and always enjoyed going to their events.  She is survived by her husband Tommy Mitcham, her sons and daughter-in-law Kevin Mitcham of Oxford and Keith Mitcham (Sandi) of Cherokee, Oklahoma, her grandchildren Karly, Kade, and Austin, her brother Ed Brand (Hazel) of Oxford, along with a host of other family and close friends.

The family will have graveside services for Mrs. Mitcham at 2 o’clock Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Macedonia Church Cemetery with Reverend David Shelton officiating.  Due to the COVID19 / Coronavirus Pandemic recommendations there will be a Celebration of Life service held at Macedonia Baptist Church at a later date that all are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, PO Box 1357, Oxford, GA 30054.  The family has selected J.C.
