Erin Roper, age 43, a lifelong resident of Covington, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Born on August 28, 1982, in Covington, Erin was the cherished son of the late Gary and Trisha Roper. His deep roots in the community shaped a life full of kindness, talent, and generosity.
Erin grew up surrounded by family and friends in Covington, graduating from Faith Academy where he built a foundation of character and lifelong friendships. Driven by his love for music and a desire to hone his talents, Erin went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from the Atlanta Institute of Music. His remarkable abilities made even the most difficult tasks appear effortless, a quality that inspired all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A man of many talents, Erin excelled at playing the guitar, a passion that filled his life with joy and brought music to those around him. He was also an avid golfer, a motorcycle enthusiast, and a gifted artist. Whether on the green, on the open road, or with a paintbrush in hand, Erin’s creativity and zest for life shone brightly.
Erin’s legacy is carried on by his beloved wife, Alexis Roper; his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Karen Roper; his in-laws, Eddie Crawford and Jennifer James; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mitchell and Nicole Crawford; his nephew, Riley Roper; and a host of extended family members and many close friends who will miss him dearly.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Erin’s life will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Covington City Cemetery with Pastor Danny Sorrells officiating. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Erin Roper’s warmth, humor, and artistic spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though he is gone, his memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life.
