Mrs. Evelyn Pace, age 99, of Covington passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020. She was born in Swords, Georgia on April 21, 1921 to June and Katie Dunevant Veal who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Pace grew up in Morgan County and moved to Covington shortly after she married Mr. William Harold “Jot” Pace. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Mrs. Pace was a great cook, and loved people; she spent countless hours caring for others her entire life. She was Baptist by faith and a longtime member of Porterdale Baptist Church. Mrs. Pace was preceded in death by her husband William Harold “Jot” Pace, her sons Sam Pace and William Douglas “Billy” Pace. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Richard and Pam Pace of Covington, her daughter-in-law Darlene Pace also of Covington along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild and a host of other family and close friends.
Graveside services for Mrs. Pace will be held at 11 o’clock Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Lawnwood Memorial Park with Pastor David Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 10:00am to 10:45am on Tuesday prior to the service.
