Mr. Floyd J. Rutledge, 80 of Covington passed away April 8, 2024 at Piedmont Newton Hospital. Mr. Rutledge was born in Wrightsville, GA to Alvin and Velma Bush Rutledge who have preceded him in death. Mr. Rutledge was a retired Police Officer who worked with the Monroe Police Department. He enjoyed going to car shows and working on antique cars. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved music, Elvis, feeding the birds and trips to the beach and the mountains. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Tammy McLaughlin, son Timothy Rutledge and his brother Charles Rutledge. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Esther K. Rutledge, daughter Ivy Ingram, sons Ron Drake, Bill Drake and J.C. Cunningham; grandchildren Timmy Rutledge, J.C. McLaughlin, Kimberly Pollett, Dylan and Eli Ingram, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his sister Alma Jean Digby. No services are planned at this time.
