We are gathered in memory and celebration of the life of Mr. Frank Castellana, Jr. who passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on June 26, 1958, to the late Frank and Marie Castellana, Sr. Frank lived a life marked by devotion to his family, an unwavering faith, and a passion for sports and community involvement.
Frankie was a loving husband to his wife of 35 years, Joan Walton Castellana, and together they raised a beautiful family, filled with laughter and love. He was a cherished father to Courtney Trost and her husband Chris, Lauryn Hall, Cristina Franklin and her husband Joe, Lindsay Loew and her husband Robby, and Phillip Castellana. Frankie was also a doting Pops to Mariah, Kennedy, JayLeigh, MJ, and Christopher Trost, McLane and Stella Franklin, Maddie and Beckett Loew. He took immense joy in sharing in their lives and accomplishments, always their biggest fan in every endeavor.
His siblings, Vivian Fuller, Joanna Jones, Emanuele Castellana, Michael Castellana, and Chris Castellana, along with sister-in-law Ann Laseter and brother-in-law Larry Laseter, will fondly remember Frankie for his infectious enthusiasm and the care he extended to all. His many nieces and nephews knew him as the fun-loving Uncle Frankie who could light up any room.
He is predeceased by sister, Baby Girl Castellana. Frank's life was enriched by the bond he shared with his in-laws, Sam and Betty Walton, who provided a foundation of support and camaraderie throughout his years.
Frankie’s professional life was marked by over 30 years of dedicated service in sales within the corrugated tooling industry. His colleagues knew him as a man of integrity and charisma, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. His commitment to excellence and his ability to build lasting relationships were hallmarks of his successful career.
Beyond his professional achievements, Frankie was deeply involved in his community. He had a lifelong love for sports, coaching his children and their friends. Coach Frankie will be remembered for having the remarkable ability to encourage and uplift each athlete instilling confidence, teamwork and a love for the game. An avid supporter of UGA and the Atlanta Braves, Frankie’s enthusiasm for the game was infectious.
Faith played a central role in Frankie’s life. As a faithful member of First Baptist Covington, he lived out his love for the Lord through his actions and guidance to others. His faith was the cornerstone of his existence, providing strength and comfort throughout his journey.
Frankie’s ability to engage with people was legendary; he never met a stranger and had the rare gift of making everyone feel like a friend. In his youth, he exhibited these leadership qualities by serving as a member and State President of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). His commitment to the organization reached new heights as he became National Vice President of the Southeastern District, impacting countless young lives.
Though Frankie has moved on from this world, his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched. His laughter, warmth, and generous spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Frankie's journey through life was a testament to the joy of giving, the strength of faith, and the depth of familial love.
In the hearts of those who knew him, Frank Castellana, Jr. will forever be remembered as a man who cherished his family, who stood firm in his beliefs, and who brought joy and kindness to the world around him. His memory will be treasured always, and his influence will continue to be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing this remarkable man.
Funeral Services for Frank will be at 11:00AM on Friday, January 17, 2025, at First Baptist Covington with Dr. Cody McNutt and Reverend Mike Franklin officiating. Interment will be held at Newborn Memorial Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations be made to First Baptist Covington Capital Campaign.
