Mr. Franklin “Stewart” Rutledge, 74 of Conyers passed away peacefully at his home on May 22, 2023. Mr. Franklin who was affectionately known as “Cowboy” was a self employed landscaper for many years. He loved country & western music and shows. He always wore his cowboy boots and hat and was known for always cutting up and wearing comical T-shirts. Cowboy was a man of God and he loved serving others. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and a frequent visitor of Milstead Baptist Church.
Cowboy was pre-deceased by his parents, Claude Franklin Rutledge and Azzilee Glaze Rutledge; his siblings Miriam Rutledge, Paul Rutledge, Annette Robinson, Garry Rutledge, Betty Thompson, Ruby Ray and Weyman Rutledge.
He is survived by his sister and brother Jeannette McAfee and Tommy Rutledge; nieces and nephews, Melody, Dion, Shane, Arnold, Martin, Claude, Rita, Teresa, Debra, Melissa, James, Edward, Bonnie, Carol, Lorraine, Janice, Joy, Nancy, Charles and David.
Visiting hours for Cowboy will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Lenora Church Cemetery. Cowboy boots, hats and western attire is encouraged for the visitation and service. J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
