Gail (Bray) Johnson

Mrs. Gail Johnson, age 80, of Covington passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024.  She was born September 15, 1944 in Social Circle to Dendy and Ruby Bray who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Johnson grew up in Social Circle and graduated from Social Circle High School.  Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family and friends.  Mrs. Johnson worked for Legget and Platt in Social Circle, she also worked for the FFA Camp, and for 10 years she worked at the Newton County Superior Court Clerk’s Office. Along with her parents Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her brother Bob Bray.

 Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 60 years Carter Johnson; her son Al Johnson of Monticello; her daughter and son-in-law Angie and Jason Garner of Covington; her granddaughter Laylah Garner of Covington; her sister and brother-in-law Peggy and Wayne Knight of Covington; her sister-in-law Charlene Bray of Oxford; along with numerous other family members and many close friends. 

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
