Gene Jackson

Mr. Gene Jackson, age 72, of Loganville passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022.  He was born February 3, 1950 in Atlanta to Spurgie and Runnelle Jackson who have preceded him in death.  Gene grew up in the Atlanta area and attended Towers High School.  He was a pipefitter and member of Local Union 72.  Gene was a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Braves, NASCAR, The Allman Brothers, his truck, and riding Harley’s. 

Mr. Jackson is survived by his children, Jake Jackson of Loganville, Rachel Jackson of Fredrick, MD, and Molly Shoemaker of Hagerstown, MD; his grandchildren Ian and Hailey; his sisters and brothers-in-law Marsha Johnson (Vernon) and Renee Brooks (Sam); his brothers and sisters-in-law Tim Jackson (Lynne) and Andy Jackson (Susan); along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many close friends. 

Funeral services for Gene will be held at 1 o’clock Monday, April 11, 2022 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers family is asking for donations to Sacred Journey Hospice or American Stroke Association in memory of Spurgie “Gene” Jackson.
