Georgia Savage

Mrs. Georgia Savage, age 91, of Porterdale, Georgia passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024. She was born on July 26, 1933 to George and Janie Smith who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Savage loved taking care of people and adored her family. She enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves baseball. She was a member of Calvary Community Church for 20 years. Mrs. Savage was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Chapter 55 and the Alcovy Shrinettes. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly. Along with her parents, Mrs. Savage is preceded in death by her siblings, Willie T. Smith of Conyers, Leila Hebert of Porterdale, Emily Holder of McDonough, and Ruby Lee Matheny of Porterdale.

Mrs. Savage is survived by her husband of 72 years, Bobby Jack Savage; children, Dennis Savage (Rita) of Tennessee and Darlene Savage of Covington; grandchildren, Jamie Tyner (Will) of Tennessee, Daniel Savage (Lauren) of Massachusetts, Scott Autry (Stephanie), and Marcus Autry; great-grandchildren, Walker Tyner, Lindsay Tyner, Titus Autry, Sheperd Autry, Gabby Autry, Sadie Autry, and Nora Autry; sister, Vena Barnett (George) all of Covington, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and close friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Savage will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday, August 29, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home with Reverend Scott Autry and Pastor Tim Walden officiating.  Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The pallbearers will be Chris Bowles, Samuel Bowles, Ronald Smith, Tommy Pilgrim, Harold Pilgrim, Jeff Pickens, Danny George, and Virgil Jones. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
