Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Haynes

Gerald Wayne Haynes “Jerry” was born October 23, 1944 to Diana and Clyde Haynes of Decatur, Georgia.  Jerry was the youngest of three brothers Ronald and Hayward Haynes who preceded Jerry.  He attended the University of Georgia and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business, and served in the United States Army in the reserves.   He was a business owner and entrepreneur his whole adult life.  Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, history, and antiques.  Jerry loved the United States, and was passionate about its Christian roots and freedoms.  He is survived by his two beloved daughters Brittany Bennett, wife of Jeff Bennett and their eight children, and Holly Haynes and her three children.  

Funeral services for Jerry will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Sewell Church Cemetery, 1660 Sewell Church Road, Mansfield, GA 30055.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service on Sunday.
