Geraldine (Booth) Walden

In the garden of life, there are flowers whose brightness and beauty are known by the joy they bring to everyone who crosses their path. There is no pretense. There is only genuine love and friendship. Such was the life of Geraldine Walden.

Bessie Geraldine Walden of Conyers, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2023. Geraldine or Gerri, was born on March 14, 1944 to Ralph and Iris Booth. She was a 1962 graduate of Douglas County High School which declared, “Her kind heart and helping hand will lead her on through life.” She lived those words every day as a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and friend. Geraldine was known for making the best fried chicken and biscuits, which she loved.  She loved to sing and often participated in choir and singing specials at church. She was formerly employed at Edwards Middle School in Conyers as a cafeteria employee for 21 years. She attended Calvary Community Church and lived her life in worship to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Gerri is preceded in death by her husband, John Sanford Walden, daughter, Regina George, Grandson Ryan Gosse; her mother, Iris Elizabeth Booth, father, Ralph Justice Booth, sisters Gloria Booth, Mary Allmon, Jeanette Trawick, and Brother Ralph Justice Booth Jr. All of whom met her in glory with open arms.

Mrs. Walden is survived by her sisters Shirley Fordham, Becky Silberg and Dennis, Annie Henizmann and David, and Mae Arnold; her daughters Karen Janzen and husband Erich, and Sharon Gosse and husband Kenneth; her son, John Walden and wife Shelley; and her son-in-law Danny George; her grandchildren Matthew, Tisha, Miranda, Nandor, Stephen, Kristine, Renee, Casey, Adam, Andrea, Jonathan, Angela, Lucy, Brandon, Samuel, Brittany, Bryanna, and Quinton; her great grandchildren Morgen, Josiah, Benjamin, Angel, Elijah, Cassandra, Rose, Kem, David, Zion, Elle, Hollis, Carter, Seba Paul, Piper, Jamie, Charli, Henry, Reagan, and baby Navarro; her great-great grandchildren Bowen, Willow, baby Still, Lyla, and Amelia; along with a host of other family members and close friends.  

Graveside service will be held at 4 o’clock Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Walden Cemetery, 120 Crowell Road SE, Conyers, GA 30094.  J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
