Mr. Spradley of Covington, Georgia, age 98, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022. He was born in Moultrie, Georgia on December 20, 1923 to Mack and Nora Spradley who have preceded him in death. Mr. Spradley graduated Moultrie High School then begin his college education at The University of Georgia before joining the United States Army. He served his time in the Army during World War II. After Mr. Spradley served our country, he went on to finish his degree at Georgia State College. During college, he worked at A&P Grocery Store in Atlanta where he met Katherine, his wife for almost fifty years. Mr. Spradley spent 30 years in his career at Superior Ford Motor Company. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Covington. Mr. Spradley enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. He also loved to fish and travel. Mr. Spradley was an extra in several movies all filmed here in the area. He was a stand-in during the filming of In the Heat of the Night. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Garrett Spradley and his second wife Grace Budd Spradley. Mr. Spradley is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nina and Phil Partridge of Covington; grandson and his wife, Matt and Heather Partridge of North Palm Beach, FL; great-granddaughter, Abigail; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and close friends.
