Grant White

Mr. Grant White, age 73, of Porterdale passed away Friday, February 7, 2020.  He was born June 5, 1946 in Porterdale to Ramon and Geneva White who have preceded him in death.  Grant grew up in Newton County and was a graduate of Newton County High School.  He was a great paint and body man and loved working on cars, it was truly his passion.  Mr. White served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Tony White.  Mr. White is survived by his daughters Melissa White and her husband Matthew of Flovilla, and Stephanie Divjak of Atlanta, his grandchildren Morgan, Jarrod, Tyler, Christian, Sophia, and Avery, his great grandchild Willa, and his sister Phyllis Allgood of Monroe.  He is also survived by numerous other family member and many close friends. 

Graveside services for Mr. White will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Ellington Family Cemetery with Pastor Steve Clifton officiating.  The family will receive friends 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to garysinisefoundation.org/donate or to alcohloismresearch.org.  The family has selected J.C.
