Mr. Greg Cown, age 66, of Good Hope passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024. He was born on May 2, 1958 in Tucker to Jack and Carolyn Cown. Mr. Cown grew up in Stone Mountain and graduated from Stone Mountain High School in 1976. He served Dekalb County as a firefighter for 28 years. Mr. Cown was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and his family’s annual trip to St. George Island. Mr. Cown was an active member of Bostwick United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. He is preceded in death by his father Jack Cown and his granddaughter Sawyer Cown.

Mr. Cown is survived by his wife of 42 years Cecille Cown, his mother Carolyn Cown, his sons Cole (Christina) Cown of Greenville, South Carolina and Chance (Megan) Cown of Watkinsville; his grandchildren Cooper, Connelly, Finley, Campbell, Jack and Brooks; his brothers Jimmy (Sherre) Cown of Milledgeville, Steve (Tammy) Cown of Monroe and Tony (Kelly) Cown of Monroe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Cown will be held at 2 o’clock on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Bostwick United Methodist Church with Reverend Hannah Pye officiating.  A reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.
