Obituary
Mr. Greg Payton, age 60, of Oxford passed away Monday, October 18, 2021. He was born in Trion, Georgia and grew up in Covington. Greg attended Newton County Comprehensive High School and worked at Wal Mart as a Sales Associate in Sporting Goods for 15 years. He loved watching his Bulldogs play, but nothing made him happier than being with his wife, family, and playing with his grandchildren.
Greg is survived by his wife Tammy Payton; his daughters Nicole Holder (Ronnie) of Oxford, and Mollie Harrison (Michael) of Marietta; his sons Titus Payton of Oxford, and Joshua Payton (Jazmine) of Madison. His 16 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, along with several nieces, nephews, other family, and close friends also survive him. No services are planned at this time which was Greg’s wish. J.C.
