Mr. Harry Thomas, age 88, of Covington, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020. He was born September 10,1932 to Kenneth and Clella Thomas who have preceded him in death. Mr. Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grand father, brother, and friend. He was a good teacher to his sons. Mr. Thomas was known as a happy go lucky, loving, all around great guy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons. Mr. Thomas was a jokester and everyone loved his humor. He served three years in the United States Airforce and three years with the Pennsylvania National Guard. Mr. Thomas was a member of the American Legion Post #16 in Cleveland, Georgia, a mason and member of the Golden Fleece Lodge #6, a member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta, Georgia, and the past president of Tucker Shrine Club. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years Shirley Thomas, son Jimmy Thomas, grandson John Ricks, and brother Kenneth Thomas, Jr.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his son Jerry Thomas (Wanda), grandchildren Keith Thomas (Tara), Frank Insalaco (Shelley), Angela Mimbs (Rodney), and Melanie Lawson (Jody), ten great-grandchildren, sister Judy Thomas, along with other family members and close friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas will be held at 11am Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 5pm until 8pm at the chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.
