Helen G. (Bevels) Bullard

Mrs. Helen G. Bullard, age 81, a lifelong resident of Porterdale passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018.  She was born in Sylacauga, Alabama on September 1, 1936 to Roy and Clara Mae Bevels who have preceded her in death. 

Mrs. Bullard loved going to the mountains, watching television, going to Dollar General, yard sales, and shopping at Goodwill.  She attended Solid Rock Baptist Church and enjoyed listening to gospel music and the Grand Ole Opry.  Mrs. Bullard was a wonderful mother ranking a prefect “10” tough when she needed to be and a fighter; she loved her family very much and loved spending time with all of them.  She was preceded in death by her husband William Ferrell Bullard and a grandson Jackie Ray Bullard.

Mrs. Bullard is survived by her children Puddy and Shelba Bullard of Oxford, PeeWee and Brenda Webster Bullard of Covington and Sue and Skip Gray of Mansfield her 5 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren her sister and brother-in-law Gail and Don Jones of Illinois and a host of other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bullard will be held at 2 o’clock Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Franklin officiating.  Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home form 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2018.  J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home, 2157 East Street, SE, Covington, GA 30014 is in charge of the arrangements.
