Mr. Horace Theodore Cook, Jr. passed away on June 21, 2025, at the venerable age of 85. Born on August 28, 1939 to Horace Theodore Cook, Sr. and Erlene Dempsey Cook, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also lovingly joined in life by his late wife, Nancy Luther Cook, and their daughter, Sandra Tenney, who both left this world before him. Ted's legacy continues through his devoted son, Scott Cook, and his wife, Hope Willingham, of Conyers, Georgia, his son-in-law Eliot Tenney of Charlotte, North Carolina, and his adoring grandchildren, Brittany Majka (Brian), Lily Cook, and Autumn Cook. The joy of Ted's life was further enriched by his great-grandchildren, Henry Hayworth and Sophie Majka. His bond with his brother, Earl Cook (Bobbie) of Marietta, Georgia, brother-in-law, David Luther (Vickie) of McDonough, Georgia, and sister-in-law, Elaine Byrd of Stockbridge, Georgia, along with his nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members, remained a source of comfort and happiness throughout his life.
Ted in the United States Air Force Reserves for six years. Beyond his military service, Ted was a man of many talents and interests. His passion for woodworking and tinkering was more than a hobby; it was expression of love for those around him. He could often be found in his workshop, building cabinets, doors, and furniture.
A Graveside Service will be at 10am, Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens with Pastor Fletcher officiating. J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
