Horace Ceal Hardeman

Mr. Horace Ceal Hardeman, age 90, of Oxford formerly of Godfrey, GA passed away Friday, February 12, 2021.  He was born December 25, 1930 in Pennington and grew up in Pennington.  Mr. Hardeman graduated from Jasper County High School and Hayward Technical College in North Carolina.  He served in the Army National Guard and was a Forester working for Evergreen Timberland.  Mr. Hardeman enjoyed gardening, wood working, fishing, wrestling, and western novels.  He served on the Godfrey Rural Fire Department and was the Chief at one point.  Mr. Hardeman was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he was a Deacon.  He was a Mason with over 50 years of membership in Madison Masonic Lodge #376.  He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Rosa Smith Hardeman, his wife Fannie Hardeman, and his dog Jackson Dill Pickle.  Mr. Hardeman is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and James Glovan of Oxford and his dog Dolly Mae Dab Bob. 

Graveside services for Mr. Hardeman will be held at 1 o’clock Monday, February 15, 2021 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, 1111 Antioch Church Road, Madison, GA 30650.  The family will receive friends at J.C. Due to the COVID 19/Coronavirus Pandemic all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requirements will be followed.  There is a limit of 50 people at any large gathering, social distancing must be recognized, the use of a mask is encouraged, and most importantly if you feel sick or have any symptoms of COVID 19 you will not be allowed to attend the service.  Please be respectful of the family during this difficult time and follow the requirements of the CDC.
