James Duckett

Mr. James Duckett, age 86, of Covington passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023.  He was born May 3, 1936 in Ninety-Six, South Carolina to Hubert and Minnie Spinks Duckett who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Duckett grew up in Atlanta and graduated from O’Keefe High School.  He was a plant manager for Edwards Warren Tire Company for many years.  Mr. Duckett enjoyed hunting, working on cars, telling jokes, and caring for his family.  He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Duckett and his son Jimmy Duckett. 

Mr. Duckett is survived by his children Gina Ray (James) of Ellijay, Mary Alexander (James) of Monroe, and Charles Duckett (Janet) of Covington. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; his sister Sandra Keele of Monticello; along with several other family members and many close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Duckett will be held at 11 o’clock Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Ernie Forrester officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 30, 2023.  J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
