James Calvin Ledford

Mr. James Calvin Ledford passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the age of 72. His life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and hard work. Born on September 21, 1953, to Billy and Martha Ledford, Calvin grew up learning the values that would shape his life and the lives of those around him.

Calvin was a devoted husband and celebrated 53 years of marriage with his loving wife, Cathy Ledford. Together, they built a life full of joy, challenges, and unwavering support for one another. Their bond was a beacon of enduring love for their son, Calvin Heath Ledford, who Heath cherished as both a father and a friend. His role as an uncle was also a source of pride and happiness, as he became a beloved figure to a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Despite the profound sadness of outliving his daughter, Holli Ledford, and his brother, Tom Ledford, Calvin's legacy of kindness and resilience lives on through his family and all who knew him. His parents, Billy and Martha Ledford, preceded him in death, but their influence was evident in the integrity and generosity that Calvin demonstrated throughout his life.

Calvin's professional life was marked by a steadfast commitment to his craft. After 30 years of dedicated service, he retired from the Local 72 as a respected plumber. Beyond his professional achievements, Calvin was a man of many passions. He was a family man, always prioritizing time with his loved ones. Calvin's love for the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for deer hunting, fishing, and camping. These activities brought him great joy and provided cherished memories for his family and friends.

Calvin's playful spirit was often on display as he fiddled in the backyard, a place where he found tranquility and satisfaction maintaining the landscape. His love for yard work was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his appreciation for nature and the simple pleasures of life.

A memorial service for Calvin will be at 3 o’clock on Friday, January 9, 2026 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Owens officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these services.
