Mr. James Thomas Schagane of Tavares, Florida, age 75, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023. Mr. Schagane was from Kentucky, born on Christmas Day 1947. His parents were Dennis and Margaret Schagane. Mr. Schagane served his country in the United States Navy as an underwater missile specialist. After obtaining his engineering degree he worked repairing printing presses for Monotype for 19 years and then went on to work for Walt Disney World for a decade working on sound systems. Mr. Schagane enjoyed music and loved playing the bass. He enjoyed using his skills and working on amps and stock cars. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and even raced cars in his younger days. Mr. Schagane collected coins and zippo lighters. He enjoyed spending time and being a member of the VFW and his local Moose Lodge. Mr. Schagane has been preceded in death by his parents, his brother Johnny Schagane, his Aunt Jeanne Mitchell and his Uncle Owen Keller Jr.
Mr. Schagane is survived by his children Odessa Johnson, Alexandria Schagane and her husband Nestor Mendoza, and Cory Martin; His grandchildren Rylee Johnson, Rhett Johnson, Olivia Johnson, Logan Schagane and Kellan Wong; His siblings Henry Schagane, Mary Guiles, Timmy Campbell (Scotty) as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Service for Mr. Schagane will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home at 4 o’clock. Prior to the service the visitation will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm. J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
