James Stapp

Mr. James Stapp, age 93, of Tucker passed away Friday, January 15, 2021.  He was born October 15, 1927 in Rutledge, Georgia to Harvey and Ruth Taylor Stapp who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Stapp served in World War II and was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.  He was a truck driver and drove for Roadway Transportation for many years.  Mr. Stapp enjoyed playing the violin and the guitar.  Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Sara Jean Stapp and his daughter Lisa Lee. 

Mr. Stapp is survived by his wife Gladys Stapp, his children Gary Stapp (Loree) of Newnan, Wanda Rutland (Tim) of Ft. Meyers, FL, Carla Frenell (Mark) of Covington, Robin Brooks (Dexter) of Marietta, Bonnie Hahn (Mark) of Tucker, and Barry Harper (Shay) of Rising Fawn, GA, his sister Shirley Skinner of Covington, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Stapp will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Stucke officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm prior to the service of Tuesday at the funeral home.  J.C. Due to the COVID 19/Coronavirus Pandemic all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requirements will be followed.  There is a limit of 50 people at any large gathering, social distancing must be recognized, the use of mask is encouraged, and most importantly if you feel sick or have any symptoms of COVID 19 you will not be allowed to attend the service.  Please be respectful of the family during this difficult time and follow the requirements of the CDC.
