James E. “Jay” and Janet W. Hardee of Newborn passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025. Mr. and Mrs. Hardee are survived by their children Jordan Hardee and her fiancée Shaun Riser, and Claire Hardee all of Newborn; their grandchildren Josiah and Elizabeth. Mr. Hardy’s mother Ruth Sims Hardee of Cherry Lake, Florida; along with a host of loving family and friends also so survive Mr. and Mrs. Hardee. Mrs. Hardee was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Anne Whitlock, and Mr. Hardee was preceded by his father Jimmy Hardee.
Mrs. Hardee was born March 21, 1965, and grew up in Roswell, Georgia. She was lovingly described by her daughters as a wonderful caregiver, who’s passion in life was helping others, and a strong woman of faith who loved her Lord very much. She was very active at her church, Park Place Church in Snellville where she was often found serving her church family as she served her own family with love and devotion.
Her devotion to care giving did not stop with her family; she was a devoted teacher and taught for many years at Shoals Creek Elementary in Conyers and currently at Putnam County Primary School in Eatonton. Mrs. Hardee was a graduate of the University of Georgia, Georgia State University, and Thomas University.
Mr. Hardee was born April 12, 1962, in Madison, Florida. He was described as a loving father and grandfather who had a passion for flying. He was a chemist and a graduated of both Emory at Oxford College and Georgia State University.
A Celebration of life will be held at 11 o’clock, Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Park Place Church, 4576 Lenora Church Road, Snellville, Georgia with Pastor Sheldon Landy officiating.
