Mr. James Ronald "Ronny" Dobbs, aged 76, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away on August 30, 2025. Born on April 14, 1949, to the late James T. Dobbs and Floree Hooper Dobbs, Ronny lived a life marked by devotion to his family, a passion for his interests, and a steadfast work ethic.
Ronny's professional life was largely spent at Lithonia Lighting, where he was a respected quality control inspector until his retirement. His commitment to excellence and attention to detail were hallmarks of his career, and he was well-regarded by his colleagues for his integrity and reliability.
Family was the cornerstone of Ronny's life. He leaves behind his loving wife of 10 years, Cynthia Kay Dobbs, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love. Together, they navigated life's joys and challenges with grace and unwavering support for one another. He was a guiding light in the lives of his stepson, Aaron Poe, and his wife Jennifer; his son-in-law, Kevin Stewart; and his grandchildren, Breanna Hall and her husband Zach, Sean Poe and his wife Kasey, and Michael Stewart. His great-grandchildren, Oaklynn "The Princess" Hall and Waylon “Little Hotshot” Poe, brought him immense joy and were the recipients of his boundless affection. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Storer, and his brother, Tommy Dobbs, along with his nephew, Anthony Dobbs, other family members and close friends. Ronny was predeceased by his stepdaughter, Christy Stewart, whose memory he held dear.
Ronny was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and never missed a game. His love for working on cars was more than a hobby; it was a testament to his patience and skill. Fishing was another of his pleasures, providing quiet moments of reflection. Ronny’s weekends were often spent in search of treasures at yard sales, a pastime that spoke to his appreciation for the simple joys in life and playing cards with his family.
A Graveside Service for Ronny will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Lane Family Cemetery, located at 1794-1900 Dixie Rd. Covington, Ga. 30014 with Dr. David Moody officiating.
