Jeff Blackwell

Jeff Blackwell, age 54, of Jackson passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021. He was born on May 4, 1967, his parents Bobby and Mary Lou Blackwell have preceded him in death. Mr. Blackwell grew up in Jonesboro, Georgia. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and his four-wheeler. Mr. Blackwell was a proud member of the Philologia Masonic Lodge. Being a Mason brought him so much joy and sense of accomplishment. Mr. Blackwell had a servant’s heart and being a Mason gave him an outlet to serve his community. One of his favorite places to serve was the Children’s Home in Augusta. He was a wonderful compassionate person who enjoyed caring for everyone around him. Mr. Blackwell was also preceded in death by his niece Allison Marisa.

Mr. Blackwell is survived by his wife Mary Blackwell, his step children Catherine Tanner, Tara Fuller (Michael) and William Tanner. His siblings Phil Woll (Alice), Melody Smalley, Pam Baker, DeeAnn Hylock (Kenny), Bobbie Louise Smith (George), Tim Blackwell and Jennifer Doxakis. He is also survived by his longtime friend Jonathan Bostwick, as well has several grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of other nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for Mr. Blackwell on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11 o’clock in the Chapel of J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home.  Following the service, lunch will be served at 1005 Milstead Avenue, Conyers, GA  30012 (Philologia Lodge F & AM), located a short distance from the funeral home.  Please come and celebrate Jeff, as the family would like to hear your stories about Jeff and the meaningful times you shared with him.  In lieu of flowers the family is asking that you make donations in his name to the Georgia Transplant Foundation 2201 Macy Drive Roswell, Georgia 30076.  J.C. As of April 8, 2021, Governor Brian Kemp has lifted the restrictions for large gatherings and other recommendations throughout Georgia.  However, we ask that you still be respectful of the family and others during this time. If you are sick, not feeling well, or have any symptoms of COVID 19, please do not attend the service or services.  If you feel the need to wear a mask, please do so.
