Obituary

Mr. Jeff Lackey, age 56, of Oxford passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023. He was born in Covington on May 11, 1967 and grew up in Newton County. Jeff was a carpenter by trade and was a “Tinkerer” who loved working on lawnmowers, doing yard work, construction work, and going 4-wheeling. He was preceded in death by his father Wilford Lackey, and the mother of his children Lorie Lackey. Jeff is survived by his mother Evelyn Hardy of Covington; his children Brandon Lackey of Covington, Zach Lackey of Mansfield, Jeremy Revis of Cornelia, and Jenny Lackey of Commerce; his grandchildren Micah, Bradyn, and Sophia; his brothers Keith Lackey, and Allen Lackey; his sister Lisa Colburn; his great uncle Travis Veal; his best friend Mario; along with numerous other family members and many close friends. A memorial service will be announced soon.
