Jeffrey Duncan Obituary

Mr. Jeffrey "Jeff" Duncan, a cherished family man and esteemed auto mechanic, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, in Covington, Georgia, at the age of 64. Born on November 22, 1960, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jeff's life was one richly lived and filled with the joy of deep family connections and the simple pleasures of fishing and celebrating life's moments.

Together, Jeff and Elaine built a loving home and raised three children who would continue his legacy of kindness and joy. Their son, Josh Duncan, along with his wife Krystal, their other son, Michael Duncan, and their daughter Brandy Smith, alongside her husband David, all grew up immersed in the warmth and unwavering support of their father. Jeff was a proud grandfather to Brandon Duncan, Chloe Duncan, Vander Duncan, David J. Smith, Christina Rose Smith, and Allison Hope Smith. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and instilled in them the same sense of family unity and love for life's simple pleasures that he held so dear. Jeff is also survived by his mother, Karen Duncan of Sarasota, Florida.

Jeff's love for his family was paralleled only by his dedication to his career as an auto mechanic. For many years, he was the go-to expert for anyone in need of car repairs, known for his reliable work ethic and the skillful hands that brought countless vehicles back to life. His colleagues and customers respected him for his knowledge and honest approach to his work.

A man of many interests, Jeff's love for fishing was well-known among his friends and family. He relished the tranquility of being on the water, whether it was a serene morning on the lake or a spirited family fishing trip. His legendary partying spirit was a testament to his philosophy of living life to the fullest and the joy he brought to every gathering.

Jeff's presence was a source of stability and love for his siblings as well. His sister, Heather Alger, and her husband John, as well as his brother, Matt Duncan, will miss him dearly.

Although predeceased by his father, George Duncan, and his grandson, Chase Jeffrey Smith, Jeff's memory will be a guiding light for all who knew him. His life's story is one written in the hearts of his family, the countless lives he touched, and the many moments of happiness he created.

Funeral service for Jeff will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1pm until 2pm prior to the service.
