Jerry Rogers

Mr. Jerry Rogers, age 75, of Covington passed away Sunday, August 23, 2020.  He was born September 17, 1944 in Piedmont, Alabama to his parents J. B. and Elizabeth Mobley Rogers who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Rogers moved with his family at age 9 to Atlanta and grew up in East Atlanta.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.  Mr. Rogers loved working with his hands, he owned and operated Jerry’s Custom Cabinets.  He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church and loved his church family and the Lord very much.  Mr. Rogers cherished his family and loved spending time with them all.  Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Johnnie Wolfe and Sherry Givens along with his grandson Justin White. 

Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife of 58 years Pat Rogers, his children Terry Rogers (Rachel) of Monticello, Rhonda Gunnells (Jimmy) of Mansfield, and Christy McGiboney (Amanda) of Covington; his grandchildren Bradley, Amanda, Aaron, Matt, Travis, Baylee, Kayla, and Katie; his great grandchildren Cheyenne, Peyton, Jaxon, Lily, Jonesy, Kiley, Kenzzie, Kayden Grace, Kamryn, Lilly, and Charlee; his sister Connie Webb of Center, Alabama along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and close friends. 

Funeral services for Mr. Rogers will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Canaan Baptist Church, 5581 Salem Road, Covington, GA 30016 with Reverend Billy Ingram officiating.  Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.  J.C.
