Jimmie Laverne Mote

Mrs. Jimmie Laverne Mote, age 82, of Newton County passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023. She was born on January 28, 1941 to Roy and Lucy Arnold. Mrs. Mote grew up in Avondale in Dekalb County. She loved antiques. Mrs. Mote was a Baptist by faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her favorite place in the world was the beach. Mrs. Mote spent as much time as she could at her second home in Daytona Beach, Florida where she spent her days on the beach, eating at her favorite restaurants and going dancing. Mrs. Mote was preceded in death by her husband of many years Jack Edward Mote, and her parents Roy and Lucy Arnold.

Mrs. Mote is survived by her children Jack Mote, Roy Mote, and Rhonda Mote; her grandchildren Zach Mote, Savannah Mote, Corey Mote, and Chelsa Smith; her great grandchildren Kinsley Mote and Amelia Smith; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mote will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 2 PM in the chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Hilton officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 15, 2023 from 12 PM to 2 PM. Interment will follow the funeral service at Covington City Cemetery. J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
