Mrs. Jo Attaway, 68, of Loganville, GA, passed away on November 17, 2020. She was born on March 24, 1952 in Douglasville, GA to Eugene and Savilla Couch Smith who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Attaway grew up in Douglasville and attended Douglasville High School. She worked for 30 years in retail sales at Macy’s, she was a bus driver for Gwinnett County School System for 10 years and has enjoyed retirement for the last 3 years. Mrs. Attaway loved flowers, arts and crafts, DIY projects, fishing, and hunting, especially with her bow and arrow.
Jo is survived by her husband of 48 years, Mr. Jerry Attaway; her children Valorie M. Elmore (Kenneth) and Doug L. Attaway (Lisa); grandchildren Justyn Elmore, Jackson Elmore, Josh Denny and Jenna Denny; great grandchildren Emma Mondragon, Sofia Mondragon, Ethan Denny, Lillie Denny, Kagen Denny, Bristyen Denny, Braylen Denny, Beau Denny, Ace Denny and a host of other family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 2 o’clock in the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Son. The family will receive friends from 1 PM to 2 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in honor of Jo Attaway to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
Due to the COVID 19/Coronavirus Pandemic all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requirements will be followed. There is a limit of 50 people at any large gathering, social distancing must be recognized, the use of mask is encouraged, and most importantly if you feel sick or have any symptoms of COVID 19 you will not be allowed to attend the service.
