Mr. John Melvin Mahan, Sr., age 67, of Covington passed away Monday, January 29, 2024.  He was born in Huntington, West Virginia and grew up in Willow Wood, Ohio.  Mr. Mahan worked for Vantage Funeral Products in Covington.  He enjoyed sitting in bed, watching TV, drinking coffee, and smoking cigarettes.  Mr. Mahan was preceded in death by his parents Ralph Edwin and Fronia Ann Mahan; his brothers Ted, Jerry, Tom, and Sam; and his sister Delores.

Mr. Mahan is survived by his wife Sue Mahan; his children Kimberly Mahan, and John Mahan; his grandchildren Jarred, Blake, Jalynne, Brent, John III, Jacob, and Jax; his great grandchild Aiden; his brother Wayne Mahan; his sister Sissy Lowe; his nephew John Lowe; along with numerous other family members and many close friends.

A memorial service will be held at 6 o’clock Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
