Mr. Johnny Hackney Brown, age 63, of Newborn, Georgia went to be with his Lord on April 10, 2021 after a short illness. Johnny was the son of Margaret Ann Hackney (Peggy) and William Harry Brown III of Covington, Georgia who have both preceded him in death, along with his brother William Harry (Bill) Brown IV of Conyers, Georgia. Johnny was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Johnny was born and raised in the Atlanta, Georgia area and his family later moved to Conyers where he graduated from Rockdale County High School. Johnny then made his home in Newborn, Georgia where he lived and raised his family. He retired from Griffith Labs in Lithonia, Georgia where he worked for over 35 years.
Johnny is survived by his wife Brenda Hord Brown of Newborn, Georgia, his son and daughter-in-law Jonathan and Adrienne Brown of Covington, Georgia, his youngest son and daughter-in-law Brandon and Krista Brown of Key West, Florida. He also left behind his precious grandchildren, Austin Kent Brown and Makayla Lynne Brown.
Surviving siblings include Lynn Brown of Eatonton, Georgia and Candace Brown McManus of Rockwood, Tennessee. Johnny was also blessed with many wonderful nieces and nephews. Johnny was loved and cherished by everyone who knew him and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

As of April 8, 2021, Governor Brain Kemp has lifted the restrictions for large gatherings and other recommendations throughout Georgia. However, we ask that you still be respectful of the family and others during this time. If you are sick, not feeling well, or have any symptoms of COVID 19, please do not attend the service or services. The family will be having memorial service for Mr. Johnny Brown will be Friday, April 16th at 2 o’clock at Hard Labor Creek group shelter #1. It will be causal dress and a meal will be provided.
