Johnny Harris

Mr. John C. “Johnny” Harris, age 72, of Covington passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Piedmont-Newton Hospital.  He was born in Atlanta on January 27, 1951 to John and Whilamena Harris who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Harris grew up in Atlanta and graduated from Douglas High School.  He had a long career with Miller Mechanical in Atlanta and enjoyed cutting grass, drinking beer, listening to music, being outside, and smoking cigarettes. Along with his parents Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his wife Sara L. Harris; and his siblings Victor Harris, Joy Harris, and Mickey Harris.   

Mr. Harris is survived by his daughter Amberly Nies (Thomas) of Covington; his stepchildren Tara and Broy Crosby who he loved as his own; grandchildren Devon Henderson, Trinity Pratt (Noah), Madalyn Mitchell (Nolan Thompson), Kadence Edge, and Lantry Smith; his great grandchildren Amelia Pratt, and Elouise Pratt; his sisters Shawn Harris, and Kimberly Green both of Douglasville; along with numerous other family members and close friends.  There are no services planned at this time.
