Josephine Barber

Ms. Josephine Barber, age 68, of Monticello, Georgia passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022.  She was born on February 17, 1954 to Joseph and Francis Laudicina who have preceded her in death.  Ms. Barber was full of life and never met a stranger, she was affectionately known as “Mama Joe”.  She enjoyed going to yard sales and loved to laugh.  Over the years she made sure no one went without.  Mama Joe was always willing to help anyone in need by providing them with food or a place to rest their head; she made sure everyone was taken care of.  Along with her parents, Ms. Barber is also preceded in death by her grandson, Dakota.

She is survived by her children, Jessie Barber of Milledgeville, Ppina Cates-Williams and her husband Robbie of Dahlonega, Matthew Barber of Monticello, Samantha Barber of Monticello; grandchildren, Jessie, Laila, Tyler, Christina, Makayla, Landon, Cheyenne, Alex; great-grandaughter, Chloe; siblings, Robin Laudicina, Kathy Hester, Joey Laudicina, John Laudicina; host of nieces, nephews, other family members and close friends.

A gathering of friends will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.
