Julie A. (Johnson) Thomason

Mrs. Julie A. Thomason, age 59, a lifelong resident of Covington passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024.  She was born July 5, 1964 to Luther and Johnnie Ruth Johnson.  Julie grew up in Covington and attended Newton County High School.  She enjoyed making jewelry and painting.  Julie was a loving kind daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend she will be dearly missed.  She was preceded in death by her son Scott Thomason, Jr.; her mother Johnnie Ruth Johnson; her sister Joanie Vaughn; and her brothers Lanier Johnson, Terry Johnson, Wade Johnson, and Andy Johnson.

Mrs. Thomason is survived by her children Jennifer Shepherd (Zachry), Joseph Thomas, and Paulena Thomas; her granddaughter Ebony Thomason; her great grandchildren Harmony Thomason, and Zaiden Hughes; her boyfriend Joe Thomas; her father Luther Johnson; her sisters Donna Schmidt (Peter), and Brenda Scarbrough (Dan); her brother Tony Johnson; her brother-in-law Charles Vaughn; her sister-in-law Kathy Johnson; along with a host of other family members and many close friends.

A memorial service will be held at 6 o’clock Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
