Justin Mathew Leonard

Mr. Justin Leonard, age 41, of Covington passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021.  He was born April 3, 1980 in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.  Justin grew up in Nevada, Missouri and graduated from Nevada High School.   He served proudly for 11 years in the United States Army serving in both Iraq and Afghanistan.  Justin enjoyed fishing, kayaking, camping, and being outdoors. He was a member of VFW in Madison and was of the Baptist faith.  He was preceded in death by his father David Leonard.

Justin is survived by his wife Tracy Leonard of Covington, his step children Cody Bunch, Dillion Bunch, and Austin Wallace, his mother Ruth Laffey of Joplin, Missouri, his step father Ted Laffey of Auburn, Illinois, his brother James Leonard (Amber) of Centralia, Missouri, his sisters Jessica Baker (Ryan) and Jennifer Laffey all of Joplin, Missouri. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends. 

Graveside services for Mr. Leonard will be held at 11 o’clock Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, 6910 S. Goddard Road, Lithonia, GA 30038.  J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home, TE Davis Funeral Services, 2157 East Street, SE, Covington, GA  30014

As of April 8, 2021, Governor Brian Kemp has lifted the restrictions for large gatherings and other recommendations throughout Georgia.  However, we ask that you still be respectful of the family and others during this time. If you are sick, not feeling well, or have any symptoms of COVID 19, please do not attend the service or services.  If you feel the need to wear a mask, please do so.
