Kay Goff Obituary

Mary Kay Hoskins Goff, age 82, passed away on August 29, 2025 in Covington, Georgia. Kay was born in Williamson, WV, the second of six children of Herman and Louise Hoskins.  Kay grew up in St. Albans, graduating from high school there in 1960.

Kay and her husband David Goff moved to the Atlanta area in 1970.  They had a blended family of seven children.  Kay was an active volunteer at Newton General Hospital.  Her diagnosis of breast cancer led her to serve at the Women’s Diagnostic Center.  She served on the Newton General Hospital Auxiliary Board, founded and operated the Hope Boutique, and served on the committees for Portraits of Hope and the annual fashion show and fundraiser.  Kay also facilitated a breast cancer support group.  In recognition of her dedication, she received the Beta Sigma Phi Woman of the Year Award, the President’s Volunteer Service Award twice, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation Award, and the Shining Star Volunteer of the Year award.

Kay was a woman of faith and love with a servant’s heart.  She was a devoted wife and her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her large family of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also was blessed with many nieces and nephews who loved her.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David Goff and her daughter Melinda Goff.

Kay is survived by her children and their spouses: Steven and Lorri Goff, Debbie Kelley, Rodney and Corinna Goff, Martha Goff, Paul and Kristie Goff, and Matthew and Carley Goff.  She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by her siblings, Rebecca Goodwin, Sue Sergi, Rocky Hoskins, Ann Hoskins and Jane Kessell and many friends in Georgia and West Virginia.

A service will be held at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home in Covington, GA on Thursday, Sept. 4th at 11:00 AM. Kay’s remains will be interred in St. Albans, WV with a graveside service on Sept.11th at 1:00 at Cunningham Memorial Park.
